Poetry as Catalyst for Social Change

The School hosted a reading and discussion by multi-award-winning spoken word poet, Ms Dominique Christina. Ms Christina delved into deeply personal and resonantly universal topics to an audience of students from Years 10 to 13.

In the manner of great art, Ms Christina’s poetry served to move and fundamentally touch everybody present, whether they arrived at the auditorium as poetry enthusiasts or not. There was cheering; there was weeping; and at the end there were questions that revealed how perceptive and empathetic our students are – something of which the whole Heritage community can be justly proud!
