A delegation of 6 students attended the 28th annual Model United Nations International School of the Hague conference in the Netherlands from 31 October to 5 November, accompanied by Ms Natalie and Mr Sergio. Students debated in parliamentary manner on issues pertaining to our world’s crises, such as the question of national sovereignty, rights to privacy in the digital age, combating tax evasion and plastic pollution. Surrounded by 1000 participants from around the world, our students’ minds were stimulated and inspired by the wealth of perspectives offered.
The group also visited a number of cultural sites, as well as sitting in on a live debate at the Dutch Parliament, witnessing first-hand how politicians expressed some rather progressive views on educational funding, and being introduced to how the parliament functioned with its many parties and agendas. Compassion and communication truly encapsulated the spirit of the trip!
