Buckle-Up Campaign

On Friday 21 February, Officer Loukia Charalambous from the SBA Police Force visited the students of the Primary and Early Years Schools, along with Ms Dora Alexandrou. Together, they launched a special campaign to raise awareness of road and car safety for our students and their parents; particularly the use of appropriate child safety seats and seat belts for all car journeys.

Each group of students listened and watched an informative presentation from Officer Loukia and had the opportunity to ask questions of how they could make themselves and their parents safer whilst driving. Ms Dora then introduced the school to the Buckle-Up mascot and asked the students to give suggestions for his name.

All students are invited to participate in the poster design competition where the winners from each department will be used for the School’s campaign publicity.

Look out for the “Click Click, Buckle Up Quick” mascot around the Heritage roads in the future, where he’ll be reminding and rewarding students who wear their seatbelts and use child seats if under 1.50m tall.

The School would like to thank our visitor for her time as well as the Buckle Up mascot. Also a special thanks to Ms Dora for being the driving force of this worthy campaign to help keep our students, parents and friends of the Heritage safe on the roads of Cyprus.
