SEND
A student is defined as having a special educational need (SEN) if he/she has a learning difficulty or meets the criteria for ‘gifted & talented’ and requires special educational provision to be made for him or her. All students with SEN will ideally have those needs addressed, via a broad and balanced curriculum. The School is only able to admit SEN students with relatively minor difficulties, and as long as it is believed that effective learning can take place. Admission of children with special needs and the provision of Special Education and support are provided according to the provisions of the Law on Education of Children with Special Needs.

ESL
ESL is compulsory during school hours (at an additional fee) for non-native English speakers requiring support, based on teacher assessment.
Our experienced ESL teachers support language and cultural development, helping students build confidence and succeed in an English-speaking academic environment. The department also plays a key pastoral role, working closely with students.Additional private or small group lessons are available, especially helpful for beginners.
The School is a Silver Certified Cambridge Assessment English Preparation and Examination Centre.

Students are supported in a variety of ways to achieve their full academic potential. Teachers, Subject Coordinators, Special Educational Needs Coordinator, Counsellor and ESL Coordinator, and Heads of Early Years and Primary School closely monitor each student’s progress through regular informal formative and summative assessment. Regular feedback to students identifies areas for improvement allowing steady progress. Where additional support is needed, learning support assistants, teachers and our counsellor and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) work closely with the student, during school hours, and adapt lesson planning to aid students in meeting the curriculum objectives. Additionally, out of school hours lessons may be recommended to further support a student. This careful assessment helps us to create a personalised learning path that supports your child's growth and success from day one.

COUNSELLOR
As students spend so much of their time at school, teachers and support staff are in a prime position to help build and manage their wellbeing and notice if something is needed. At the School we strive to view children holistically, supporting them academically, socially and emotionally.
