The two Heritage teams, Vortex Racing and XLR8, that participated in the national Formula 1 in Schools competitions this weekend managed to achieve extraordinary results.
Vortex Racing, in particular, had the fastest car of the competition (Fastest Car Award and Knockout Racing Award), got the overall second place and have qualified for the World Finals which will take place in Singapore in September.
About the competition: Formula 1 in Schools is a global multi-disciplinary challenge which aims to inspire students to learn about physics, aerodynamics, design, manufacture, branding, graphics, sponsorship, team-work, media skills and financial strategy, and apply them in a practical, imaginative and exciting way. The teams need to deploy software to design, analyse, manufacture, test, and then race miniature compressed air powered F1 cars. You can find out more about the national competition by visiting here.
