Athens MUN Trip

During 2-5 March, 8 Heritage students participated in the 7th Session of the Platon School Model United Nations in Athens. The conference focused on the eradication of poverty and was attended by over 700 students from 44 schools and 11 countries.

The Heritage Private School students took on the role of the Chinese delegation to the UN representing the country in eight committees, each focused on a different set of global issues. Having fully researched these issues prior to the conference, the students were able to take leading roles in the discussions and debates.

The students have taken plenty from this experience. Notably, it has increased their understanding of contemporary global issues, strengthened their teamwork skills and developed them as public speakers. We hope they will build on this experience and continue to take an active role in resolving the world’s problems.
