One of the great bonuses of studying at The Heritage Private School must be its stunning location with views towards both sea and mountains, and its showpiece 1,500 seating capacity outdoor amphitheatre, especially constructed to host school and community dramatic and musical productions.
Busy parents will be pleased to learn that the School arranges a bus service to collect students from various locations around Limassol. The return bus trip can be made either at the end of school, or later, allowing students to take part in after-school activities. Alternatively, ample car parking will suit those who prefer to drive their children to and from school.
Inside the school, visitors are always impressed by how the innovatively-designed gentle curves of the buildings contain all the essentials to support effective learning. Well-lit classrooms with whiteboards, heating and air conditioning provide a comfortable environment in which to learn all year round. Creative displays of work – often including very popular art exhibitions – enhance the classrooms and corridors, and students’ belongings are tidily and safely stored in individual lockers. Three well-equipped computer laboratories are used for ICT, which is taught as a separate subject as well as being incorporated throughout the wider curriculum. The constantly-supervised Learning Resource Centre (LRC) contains the well-stocked and much-used school library, as well as providing a quiet and orderly place with desks and computers for older students to use during private study periods.
Two of the greatest gifts children have are their imagination and creativity, and The Heritage Private School encourages all students to build on their talents, both in class and in their spare time. Performance arts are particularly strong at the School, and the drama studios and sound-insulated music rooms serve the students well in their lessons, training and rehearsals.
Sports and games form an exciting and essential element in the educational process. Competition is encouraged, but good sportsmanship and team spirit are of paramount importance. The School has various teams which participate in inter-school tournaments. The superb performance of its football teams is recognised throughout Limassol, and the basketball and netball teams are also strong contenders. The many sports facilities also include tennis courts and the unique addition of cricket practice lanes.
Underlying all that takes place at the School is a commitment to health and safety. The School Cafeteria provides students, staff, and parents with nourishing food, much of which is home-cooked food on the premises, and the permanent team of cheerful cleaning and maintenance staff ensure that the buildings and grounds provide a clean and safe environment in which to work, study and play.
