Academic Standards
With its very competitive fees, parents and students can happily rest in the knowledge that the aim of the academically selective Heritage Private School is to provide the same high quality of education as would be expected of an excellent school in the UK. The School is approved by the Ministry of Education & Culture in Cyprus, and by the Department for Education (DfE) in the UK. All lessons are taught in English, and the School follows the UK National Curriculum and assessment patterns, including standardised tests, and also Cambridge Checkpoints in Year 9. It is a University of Cambridge International Fellowship Centre, and an examination centre for the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and Edexcel International Examinations.
Class sizes are a maximum of 20 in the Kindergarten, 24 in the Primary and Secondary Schools, with less than 15 in A Level groups, resulting in a high level of attention and support for each student. Homework and home study tasks are regularly given to consolidate and enhance students’ learning experiences. Reports are issued twice yearly in the Kindergarten and Primary School, and termly in the Secondary School. Plenty of opportunities are made available for parents to discuss with teachers the work and performance of their children.
