European Youth Parliament
The European Youth Parliament (EYP) is a non-governmental organisation and independent educational project, which began in 1987 initially as the project of a French school. It consists of a network of 35 European associations and organisations, all under the umbrella of the Schwarzkopf Foundation.
The EYP’s aims are to raise awareness amongst young people of European issues, encourage independent thinking, and develop socio-political initiative and active European citizenship.
The EYP promotes international understanding, intercultural dialogue and diversity of ideas.
Since its beginnings, tens of thousands of young Europeans have taken part in regional, national and international meetings, formed friendships and made contacts with other young people. The EYP aims that its projects should make an important contribution towards uniting Europe.
The Heritage Private School supports EYP activities by sending student representatives to the EYP meetings. Those who have attended report a valuable and intense learning experience that helps them to feel part of a European community of young people who are together sharing important ideas.
